DC Conducts Surprise Inspection in Margomunda, Issues Strict Directions on Drinking Water and Health Services

Deoghar: DC Shashi Prakash Singh conducted a surprise inspection of Margomunda Block, Circle Office and Community Health Centre on Tuesday to review the ground-level implementation of government schemes and administrative functioning. During the visit, he directed officials to ensure timely disposal of pending cases and avoid negligence in public welfare works.

During the inspection, the DC reviewed mutation cases, land revenue collection, court-related matters and other revenue works at the block and circle offices. He instructed officials to complete all pending matters within the stipulated time frame. He also examined the status of doorstep delivery, ration distribution and implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

Concern over drinking water and power supply
Considering the rising summer heat, the DC discussed drinking water supply and electricity issues with officials. He directed them to repair defunct hand pumps immediately and ensure uninterrupted supply of safe drinking water in rural areas. He also instructed officials to ensure proper drinking water facilities in all schools and Anganwadi centres under the block.

Verification of inactive ration beneficiaries ordered
The DC instructed the District Supply Officer to identify beneficiaries who have not lifted ration for several months and conduct necessary verification. He said that if required, such names should be removed so that ration cards can be issued to genuinely needy families. Expressing displeasure over irregularities in ration distribution, he directed officials to ensure timely lifting and distribution of food grains.

Focus on increasing man-days under MGNREGA
Reviewing MGNREGA schemes, the DC stressed generating maximum man-days and ensuring that the benefits of schemes reach rural residents transparently while creating more employment opportunities.

Inspection of health services at PHC

During the inspection of the Primary Health Centre at Margomunda, the DC reviewed cleanliness, availability of medicines, electricity supply and facilities being provided to patients. He inspected OPD, emergency services and other healthcare arrangements.The DC also reviewed the availability of life-saving medicines, medical equipment and attendance of healthcare staff. He instructed health workers to remain alert towards their duties and provide better healthcare services to patients.
Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Additional Collector Hira Kumar, Madhupur SDO Rajiv Kumar, District Supply Officer Preetilata Kisku and other departmental officials were present during the inspection.
