
Deoghar: A unique training session was held at the Police Centre meeting hall on Thursday, focusing on enhancing the life-saving skills of police personnel. The session began at 10:00 AM and aimed at preparing officers to handle emergency situations through Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR.A team of senior doctors from AIIMS, Deoghar conducted the session, which lasted for nearly one and a half hours. They explained the procedure to handle cardiac arrest cases and demonstrated the CPR technique on dummy models, ensuring hands-on learning for all participants.
Personnel from various police stations, including assistant sub-inspectors and constables, along with officers and staff from Baba Temple Police Station, actively took part in the training.Doctors highlighted the importance of the golden hour, emphasizing that the first few minutes after a cardiac arrest are critical. Timely and correct administration of CPR can significantly improve survival chances. Police personnel showed great enthusiasm and practiced the techniques during the session.
Superintendent of Police Saurabh appreciated the initiative, stating that police personnel are often the first to reach the scene of an incident. Proper training in CPR can enable them to save lives during emergencies. He also thanked the AIIMS team and expressed that such public-oriented training programs will continue in the future.The session was conducted by AIIMS team members including Project Head Dr. Rakhi Gaur, Project Coordinator Dr. Anjali Sao, Professor Dr. Nitin, and Nursing Officer Ms. Ekta. The program reinforced the idea that along with maintaining law and order, saving lives is becoming an essential responsibility of the police force.
