Jharkhand: Hemant Soren govt marks first anniversary with a record recruitment drive

Ranchi — As Chief Minister Hemant Soren completes one year of his second term on November 28, the Jharkhand government is set to celebrate the milestone by distributing appointment letters to nearly 10,000 young jobseekers at a mega event at Morabadi Ground on Friday.

Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar met the Chief Minister on Thursday to formally invite him to the ceremony.

In a social media message, Soren said his government is working with a clear roadmap to secure the future of Jharkhand’s youth. “On November 28, we will provide jobs to around 10,000 young people. Our aim is to generate employment and widen opportunities for self-employment. Jharkhand is steadily progressing towards our vision for 2050,” he wrote.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to grassroots governance, he added, “Our government is not run from Ranchi alone but from the villages. The ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ initiative continues. Officials have been instructed to ensure timely delivery of rights and services. This year, we have launched ‘Right to Service Week’ to ensure governance reaches every household.”

Preparations are underway at Morabadi Ground, with a large stage and arrangements for nearly 10,000 attendees. The list of candidates has been finalised and all recipients have been informed.

The maximum appointments will be made in the Education Department, with 8,000 assistant teachers set to join primary and middle schools across Jharkhand. The positions include teachers for Classes 1–5 as well as subject experts in languages, mathematics, science, and social sciences.

In addition, appointment letters will be handed to 207 Deputy Collectors, 35 DSPs, 56 State Tax Officers, 2 Jail Superintendents, 10 officers of the Jharkhand Education Service (Category-II), 8 Assistant Registrars, 14 Labour Superintendents, 6 Probation Officers, 3 Inspectors (Production), 1 District Superintendent, and 150 Entomologists.

Friday’s ceremony will also conclude Jharkhand’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, which began on November 11 to mark 25 years since the state was formed.
