Ranchi: In a major crackdown on organized crime, Ranchi Police have uncovered a cross-border extortion and arms racket involving a nexus between two notorious gangs led by Prince Khan and Sujit Sinha. The gangs had joined forces to extort money from local businessmen and entrepreneurs through intimidation and threats.
Under the supervision of SSP Rakesh Ranjan, a special investigation team (SIT) arrested four men — Bablu Khan (alias Inamul Haq) of Kanke, and Mohammad Shahid, Mohammad Seraj, and Ravi Anand from Pandara. Police also seized firearms and a vehicle from their possession.
The gang operated under the name “Koylanchal Shanti Sena”, using it as a cover to threaten prominent traders across the city for extortion money. The arrests followed weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that the weapons and ammunition were smuggled from Pakistan into India via drones through Moga, Punjab. These arms were allegedly used to spread fear among wealthy businesspersons in Ranchi and beyond, as part of a larger extortion and terror-linked operation.
According to police sources, Inamul Haq alias Bablu Khan played a key role as the local enforcer, collecting extortion money for Prince Khan and Sujit Sinha. The funds were channeled through Sinha’s network and ultimately delivered to Prince Khan, who then transferred the money to Pakistan via the UAE.
The funds were reportedly used by Pakistani handlers to buy illegal weapons and finance other criminal activities, pointing to a well-structured international crime syndicate.
Police also confirmed that the weapons used in the recent firing incident outside Satyabhama Apartment in Doranda were supplied by the arrested gang members.
Investigations are ongoing, with police now focusing on tracing cross-border links, monitoring drone routes, and dismantling the entire transnational network. Ranchi Police have assured strict action and a comprehensive probe into the nexus connecting local crime with Pakistan-based arms traffickers.
