Ranchi- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday distributed appointment letters to 160 newly inducted assistant professors, dentists, and medical officers for state-run medical colleges and hospitals.
At the ceremony held at the Jharkhand Secretariat, the Chief Minister said the recruitment marks a crucial step in strengthening the state’s healthcare system.
“Medicine is not just a profession, it is a noble service to society,” he remarked.
Addressing the appointees, Soren urged them to serve with compassion. “The poor and vulnerable have immense hopes from you. Let your empathy reflect in your work so that patients directly benefit from your service,” he said.
He further noted that while the state’s resources may be limited, humane conduct and sensitivity from doctors can make a major difference in patient care.
Reflecting on the lessons from the Covid-19 pandemic, the CM said that Jharkhand had managed the crisis effectively due to the tireless dedication of its health workforce. He also highlighted that lifestyle-related health issues are emerging as new challenges, calling for collective solutions.
To encourage efficiency, Soren asked the Health Department to implement regular performance reviews for doctors and establish awards for outstanding service.
Health Minister Dr Irfan Ansari, senior officials Avinash Kumar, Ajay Kumar Singh, Abu Imran, Dr Neha Arora, and others were present at the event.
