Ranchi -The CBI has arrested seven people, including three employees of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), for allegedly running an extortion racket in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district.
Investigators said the accused were illegally collecting commissions to allow coal-laden trucks to pass in the Giddi area. Those arrested include CCL staff Anil Kumar, Deepak Kumar, and Naresh Kumar, along with four alleged coal lifters and brokers — Mohd Saddam, Israel Ansari, Mohd Tabarak, and Arun Lal.
The CBI’s Anti-Corruption Branch registered a case and conducted raids that uncovered evidence of the scheme, which had reportedly been operating for some time. Officials confirmed all accused will be produced in court, while more names are under scrutiny.
