Ranchi: The BJP observed the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Saturday with tributes at his life-size statue in the Jharkhand Assembly complex and at his portrait in the party’s state office.
State BJP President and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Executive President Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai, State Organization General Secretary Karmveer Singh, State Secretary and MP Aditya Sahu, along with several senior leaders, paid floral tributes on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Babulal Marandi remembered Vajpayee as a towering statesman and a true son of Mother India with the heart of a poet. He said Vajpayee held a special place in the hearts of Jharkhand’s people and recalled his vision behind the Golden Quadrilateral project, the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and the Pokhran nuclear tests that projected India’s strength to the world.
Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai underlined Vajpayee’s crucial role in fulfilling Jharkhand’s long-standing dream of statehood, calling him a leader who took bold and revolutionary steps for a modern, self-reliant India.
Karmveer Singh described Vajpayee as a friend of all, respected across political lines, who lived for the nation and enhanced India’s global stature as well as cultural pride.
Among others present were state vice presidents Rakesh Prasad, Aarti Kujur, Vikas Preetam, Sunita Singh, Saroj Singh, Hemant Das, Subodh Singh Guddu, Shivpujan Pathak, Yogendra Pratap Singh, Ashok Badaik, Arun Jha, Suraj Chaurasia, Sunil Sahu, Deendayal Varnwal, Sanjay Chaudhary, and other party functionaries.
