
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) announced the results of the Class 10 board examinations on Tuesday, with Geetanjali, a student from Indira Gandhi Residential Girls School, Hazaribagh, securing the top position in the state with an outstanding 98.60% marks.
Geetanjali, who hails from Garhwa district, is the daughter of Umesh Pal, an assistant teacher at a government school.
The results were officially declared by State School Education and Literacy Minister Ramdas Soren at a press conference held at the JAC Auditorium in Namkum, Ranchi.
This year, girls outperformed boys, dominating the merit list. Of the top five rank holders, four are girls, and among the 14 total toppers listed by JAC, 12 are girls and only 2 are boys.
The second rank (98.2%) was shared by Ritu Kumari, Amrit Gupta, Pooja Kumari, and Amar Kumar.
Shivani Kumari and Vikas Pramanik jointly secured the third rank with 97.8% marks.
The fourth rank (97.6%) went to Shreya Kumari and Sakshi Kumari, while the fifth rank (97.4%) was jointly held by Shubham Kumar Patra, Tahreen Fatma, Bhumika Mishra, Varsha Kumari, Tanishq Kumari, and Komal Kumari.
Out of 4,33,944 registered students, 4,31,488 appeared in the examination, and 91.71% passed — showing an improvement from last year's pass percentage of 90.39%.
In terms of division:
2,02,140 students secured first division
1,57,294 secured second division
17,521 students passed with third division
Among districts, Koderma recorded the highest pass percentage at 97.83%, followed by Pakur (96.83%), Latehar (96.25%), and Jamtara (96%).
The exams were held from February 11 to March 9 across 1,297 centers throughout the state.
Students can access their results at jac.jharkhand.gov.in and jacresults.com using their roll code and roll number. The council has stated that the online marksheet will be considered valid until the official school-issued version is distributed.
