The Jharkhand Assembly received a bomb threat through email, prompting security agencies to conduct an extensive search of the entire Assembly premises.
Soon after the threat was received, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) of the Jharkhand Jaguar was deployed to the Assembly complex. The team thoroughly searched the premises but did not find any explosive or other suspicious material.
Following the threat, an official of the Jharkhand Assembly lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Assembly police station in Ranchi.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter and are working to verify the source of the threatening email. Investigators are also examining the details and origin of the message to determine whether it was a genuine security threat or a deliberate attempt to create panic.
Security personnel remained alert across the Assembly premises following the incident. Authorities are also expected to examine available digital and technical evidence as part of the investigation.
The incident has raised security concerns around the state legislature, although the search operation found no immediate threat or objectionable material inside the complex.
