200-Metre No-Entry Zone Around UPSC Exam Centres on May 25

Ranchi: The Ranchi district administration will implement strict restrictions around all UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination centres on May 25 to ensure the exam is conducted in a smooth and orderly manner.

The examination will be held in two shifts — from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM — across 48 centres in the district. To maintain law and order, prohibitory orders under Section 163 will be enforced from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM within a 200-metre radius of each examination centre.

As per these orders, gatherings of five or more people will be prohibited, except in the case of government duties or funeral processions. The use of loudspeakers or sound systems will not be allowed. Carrying of weapons, including sticks, batons, or traditional arms such as bows and arrows, is strictly banned. Additionally, rallies, public meetings, or demonstrations will not be permitted in the restricted zones during the exam period.

Security has been tightened, and magistrates will be deployed at all centres to ensure compliance with the orders. The administration has urged the public to cooperate and help maintain a peaceful environment for candidates appearing in this highly competitive examination.
