Ranchi: Education Minister Jaggarnath Mahto on Thursday announced that the toppers in State Matriculation and Intermediate Exams will be given Rs three lakh each which was earlier Rs 1 lakh.
While participating in the Sahay Yojana at the Morhabadi Grounds of the state capital he said that students coming on the second and third position will be given Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively.
In the year 2020, the Minister had announced that JAC toppers in 10th and 12th will be given a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each while the second and third toppers will be given Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
In this year's matric and intermediate exams nearly 8 lakh students are participating in Jharkhand. In Matric the candidates are around 4.50 lakh while in Intermediate their numbers stood at 3.50 lakh. As per the schedule which has been announced by JAC the exams will commence from March 14.
The exams for the matric will end on April 3 while that of intermediate will continue till April. The results are expected to be out by 15 June.
