Dumka: The ruling JMM is all set to show its might during the 44th Jharkhand Diwas Celebrations which will be held at the Gandhi Maidan of the sub-capital on February 2. As part of the celebrations, the entire city has been decked with flags, banners and posters of the party. As a custom before the start of the function in the evening, the leaders and party workers clad in their traditional clothing will gather at the SP College Grounds and will take out a rally equipped with bow and arrow dhol and nagadas which will travel through the city and reach Gandhi Maidan.
The event will start with party supremo Shibu Soren hoisting the party flag and offering tributes to the martyrs. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will reach Dumka on Thursday and apart from him all the MPs and MLAs of the party will also be addressing the event. Talking to reporters Dumka MLA Basant Soren said that the event will be a historic one as the entire Santhal Pargana gathers in Dumka to listen to Shibu Soren and on his directions the entire years the party workers do their work. He said that in the event discussion will be also held over the programs of government which are being executed in the state.
Basant Soren said that the address of Guruji energizes the cadres and workers from different states will also be coming for the event. JMM senior leader Stephen Marandi said that year after year the enthusiasm for the event is increasing and now the Gandhi Maidan has become small for the crowds. He claimed that this year the event will break all the previous records as far as the presence of the people are concerned. In the year 2021 and 2022 due to Corona the event was held in a limited manner at the district level and people could not come to Dumka but this time since the situation is normalized therefore the party workers and leaders are working day and night to make it a huge success.
