Weather station predicts drop in minimum temperature

Ranchi: Winter is going to stay for some time now as IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre has predicted a drop in minimum temperature going forward with the forecast suggesting fog and mist in the morning, a partly cloudy sky and later dry weather for the next few days.

For northern parts, a fall in minimum temperature is expected by 2-4 degrees during the next four days. While in the rest parts no large change in minimum temperature during the next 24 hours, thereafter falling by 2-4 degrees in the subsequent three days.

Satellite pictures suggested that the depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved nearly west northwestwards with a speed of 13 kmph and lay centred over the same region near latitude 8.4 degrees north and longitude 84.3 degrees east.

It is likely to recourse gradually west-southwestwards and cross Sri Lanka’s coast between latitude 7 degrees north to 8 degrees north.
