Traditional system in villages being strengthen to empower the rural economy: Hemant Soren

Jamshedpur: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the old and traditional system in the villages has to be redeveloped to strengthen the rural economy.

Addressing people in the program “Aapki Yojana-Aapki Sarkar- Aapke Dwar” organized at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur on Monday he said that from animal husbandry, milk, curd, chicken, meat and egg will be obtained at home itself. With this, the problem of malnutrition especially among women and children will be overcome.

The Chief Minister said that the government is planning to construct a new bypass for the people of Jamshedpur. He said that for this soon work would be done with the officials to prepare a big bypass project connecting Jamshedpur to Saraikela- Kharsawan.

He said that people are being benefited by the government’s welfare schemes, due to which they will become so strong, and self-reliant that even the need to take subsidized rations provided by the government will not be expected.

Soren said that the government is preparing schemes so that the children of the state can get a better education. On the coming 15th of November (Jharkhand Foundation Day), the President will launch these schemes. He said that the girl children of the state were being linked with the Savitri Bai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, under which the government would provide Rs 40,000 to girls for higher than education once they turn 18 years old.

The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of a new hospital building with a capacity of 500 beds in the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College and Hospital (MGM) campus and Rs 418 crore will be spent on its construction. With its commissioning, better treatment and testing facilities will be available to the patients of this area. 

On this occasion, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Mango bridge-cum-flyover at a total cost of Rs 474.78 crore. Its length is 4.02 km. He inaugurated 230 schemes with a total cost of Rs. 2320.72077 crores. In which a total of 158 important schemes were laid at a cost of Rs 282.451 crore and a total of 72 schemes costing Rs 38.269 crore were inaugurated. 

At the same time, a total amount of Rs 245.2773 crore was distributed among 1,63,375 beneficiaries. Stalls of various departments were set up in the program, where the people were benefitted from the public welfare schemes by the officials.

Those who graced the occasion included Cabinet Ministers Aalamgir Aalam, Satyanand Bhokta, Champai Soren and Banna Gupta. Several MLAs and senior officials of the state government and those from district administration were also present on the spot.
