DC gives necessary guidelines regarding education & skill development of children living in observation homes

Ranchi: Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan a meeting was held to comply with the standard operating procedure regarding the best care of children residing in observation home/ child home/open shelter home/specialized adoption institutions.

District Social Welfare Officer, District Child Protection Officer, Civil Doctor-cum- Chief Medical Officer, District Education Superintendent, Superintendent Rinpas Shalya Kanke Ranchi, Superintendent of all Children’s Homes, Self-Service Organizations were present in the meeting. 

In the meeting, he directed the to make the daily routine in the observation home as per the standard operating procedure. He directed the District Education Superintendent to ensure enrollment of all the children residing in the observation home / children’s home under the standard operating procedure. He further instructed to constitute a team of Child Welfare Committee, Ranchi, it was directed to provide the proposal without delay. 

The Deputy Commissioner asked to present a proposal after assessing the expenditure to be incurred in setting up the library in Dumardaga, Ranchi. Along with this it was directed to make funds available from DMFT & CSR.

He directed the District Sports Officer to inspect the observation house, Dumardaga, Ranchi and assess the various possibilities of the game and present a proposal that which sports are appropriate keeping in mind the safety of the children. Along with this, instructions were also given to ensure the proposed sports program among the children by July 15. 

The observation house was directed by the Deputy Commissioner to provide yoga teachers by the civil surgeon for conducting yoga and exercise in alternate. During the meeting, while directing the District Social Welfare Officer, Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan ordered that along with the studies of the children in the observation home, ensure the presence of children and teachers and make reports available daily and which subjects are being taught.
