In a significant initiative to promote mobility and self-reliance among persons with disabilities, Hindalco Industries Limited's Mines Division, Lohardaga, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Department, Gumla, distributed motorised tricycles to 20 beneficiaries.
The tricycles were handed over in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Dileshwar Mahto and Deputy Development Commissioner Animesh Ranjan. Hindalco's CSR officials Neeraj Kumar and Manoj Kumar Chaudhary were also present at the programme.
The initiative aims to make daily commuting easier for persons with disabilities and help them access education, employment and other essential services with greater convenience. The motorised vehicles are expected to improve their mobility, reduce dependence on others and enable them to carry out routine activities more independently.
The distribution reflects the importance of collaboration between corporate social responsibility initiatives and government departments in addressing the everyday challenges faced by persons with disabilities.
The Gumla district administration has been working to improve access to essential facilities and promote self-reliance among eligible beneficiaries. Through the District Social Welfare Department and various welfare schemes, the administration is making efforts to ensure that assistance reaches those who need it.
The provision of motorised tricycles is a step towards improving accessibility and enabling beneficiaries to participate more actively in social, educational and economic activities.
