Deoghar Airport to commence operations before holy month of Shravan

Deoghar: Flight Operations from Deoghar Airport in most probabilities commence before the start of auspicious the month of Shravan and it is expected that devotees will be able to avail air service to pay their obeisance to Baba Baidyanath.

On Thursday Chairman of the Airports Authority of India, Sanjeev Kumar visited the Airport. He said that the airport is fully ready to commence operations and any day date of inauguration will be announced.

The Chairman said that he will make efforts before Shravan flights commence operations from the Airport. He said that he had seen the preparations of the ATC, Runway and operational derails and barring few small things all works have been completed. He said that team of fire brigade has been also deputed on the spot.

The Chairman also had a meeting with Executive Director Engineering OP Chug, Airport Director Sandeep Dhingra and Project Incharge KK Das over preparations while arrangements at local level were assessed with DC Manjunath Bhajantri and SP Subhash Chandra Jaat. Later the chairman had a separate meeting with Godda MP Nishikant Dubey.

Dubey later said that the Chairman has seen everything and in all probability, the flights will commence before Shravan. Regional Executive Director of AAI Manoj Mangal said that talks are on with flight operators like Spice Jet and
Indigo to commence trial flights. He said that initially day services will commence from the airport. The Deoghar Airport is spread over an area of 654 acres and has a runway of 2500 meters.
