Ranchi: A condolence meet was on Tuesday organised at the Jharkhand Assembly following the demise of Cabinet Minister Haji Hussain Ansari.
Speaking on the occasion Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto said to shed light on the life of the late cabinet minister. He said that Haji Hussain Ansari was born on March 2, 1948 at Pipra village of Madhupur and was elected from Madhupur seat in the year 1995, 2000, 2010 and 2019 served as a cabinet minister in various capacities.
The Speaker said that he himself in his political life had learnt a lot from Haji Saheb who always cooperated with him like an elder brother. He said that such was the nature of Haji Saheb that even his political opponents could not prevent themselves from being influenced by him.
The Speaker said that with the demise of Haji Saheb a major loss has been caused to the state. Two minutes of silence was also observed as part of respect towards the departed soul.
Secretary of Jharkhand Vidhansabha Mahendra Prasad and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
