Mumbai: Actress Triptii Dimri believes comedy has a unique ability to communicate important messages effectively, saying that people are more likely to remember ideas when they are delivered with humour.
Speaking to IANS about the power of comedy in storytelling, Triptii said laughter helps people lower their guard, making it easier for meaningful messages to resonate with audiences.
“I think the more you can make people laugh, the more they understand things without feeling pressured to take them seriously,” she said.
The actress added that while people may hear serious messages, they do not always absorb them deeply. “If someone says something seriously, I may listen, but I might not take it to heart. However, when you watch something funny and genuinely enjoy it, the message stays with you somewhere,” she explained.
Triptii is currently receiving praise for her latest release, the dark comedy-drama Maa Behen, directed by Suresh Triveni and streaming on Netflix. The series also features Madhuri Dixit Nene, Dharna Durgaa and Ravi Kishan in key roles, alongside Geetanjali Kulkarni, Arunoday Singh and Shardul Bhardwaj.
The story revolves around Rekha, a mother whose already complicated life takes a bizarre turn when a dead body turns up in her kitchen. Forced into damage-control mode, she teams up with her daughters—responsible Jaya and unpredictable Sushma—to hide the truth while staying one step ahead of their curious neighbours.
Looking ahead, Triptii will star alongside Prabhas in Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The highly anticipated action drama is slated for release in March next year.
Production on the film began in November 2025, with the launch ceremony attended by several prominent figures from the film industry, including megastar Chiranjeevi. The film’s cast also includes Prakash Raj, Vivek Oberoi and Kanchana in significant roles.
While *Spirit* marks Vanga’s first collaboration with Prabhas, the filmmaker and Triptii previously worked together on the blockbuster Animal.
