Celina Jaitly Served Legal Notices by Husband Peter Haag, Father-in-Law Amid Ongoing Dispute

Mumbai — Actress Celina Jaitly has been served two legal notices by her estranged husband, Peter Haag, and her father-in-law, Wolfgang J. Haag, amid an ongoing legal battle related to matrimonial and child custody matters.

According to the notices, concerns have been raised over a series of public statements, interviews, social media posts and media reports that allegedly contain unverified and defamatory claims against Peter Haag and members of the Haag family. The notices state that these developments have occurred while legal proceedings involving the couple are still pending before courts in Austria.

A key concern highlighted in the notices is the potential impact of the public discourse on the couple’s three minor children. The family has emphasized that issues involving children should be treated with privacy and sensitivity and should not be subjected to public or media scrutiny.

The notices call for the immediate withdrawal of the allegedly defamatory content, removal of related publications, issuance of a public clarification and unconditional apology, and restraint from making further comments regarding the ongoing court proceedings or the children. Media organizations and digital platforms have also been urged to avoid publishing unverified allegations.

Commenting on the matter, solicitor Yesha Shah, partner at Semwal & Co., said that while laws protecting women are essential safeguards, matrimonial disputes should not be turned into media trials based on unverified allegations, as doing so can undermine the purpose of such legal protections.

The notices further state that failure to comply with the demands could result in civil and criminal legal action, including claims for damages, compensation and injunctive relief before competent courts.

Celina Jaitly married Peter Haag in 2010. The couple welcomed twin sons in 2012 and another set of twins in 2017. One of the twins born in 2017 passed away due to a heart condition.

In November 2025, Celina Jaitly had filed a case against Peter Haag, alleging that she had been subjected to continuous domestic violence. The matter remains under judicial consideration.
