Urvashi Rautela Turns Heads at Cannes 2026 Opening Ceremony

Mumbai: Actress Urvashi Rautela made a glamorous appearance at the 79th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, marking her fifth outing at the prestigious international event.

The actress shared glimpses of her red carpet look from the opening ceremony on Instagram, where she was seen posing at the French Riviera in a dazzling designer ensemble.

Urvashi wore a heavily embellished gown created by a Vietnamese designer. The outfit featured intricate silver crystal embroidery, sheer detailing and dramatic cape-style sleeves. She accessorised the look with an ornate jewel-studded headpiece and a matching clutch, adding to the grandeur of her appearance.

Sharing the picture online, she captioned it: “Merci Cannes Film Festival 2026… Opening Ceremony.”

The Cannes Film Festival, which began on May 12 and will conclude on May 23, opened with the French period comedy The Electric Kiss. French actress Eye Haidara is hosting both the opening and closing ceremonies this year.

Among Indian celebrities, Alia Bhatt has already walked the red carpet, while stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria are also expected to attend the 11-day festival.

On the work front, Urvashi is preparing for the second season of the web series Inspector Avinash, starring Randeep Hooda in the lead role. The series, inspired by true events, follows the story of UP super-cop Avinash Mishra and his fight against organised crime.

The actress was last seen in the film Daaku Maharaaj alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna and Bobby Deol.
