
Mumbai — Actress Rashmika Mandanna appears to be enjoying a successful phase both personally and professionally. The Government of Telangana announced the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2025 on Saturday, with Rashmika being honoured with the Best Actress award for her performance in the film The Girlfriend.
Expressing her gratitude, Rashmika shared that her character Bhooma Devi from the film holds a special place in her heart. Thanking the film’s team, she wrote on her official account on X (Twitter):
“Feeling truly grateful and happy to receive the Best Actress award at the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2025 for #TheGirlfriend. ‘Bhooma Devi’ is so very very close to my heart and I’ll always be grateful to @23_rahulr, @GeethaArts, @DheeMogilineni, #Vidya akka and the whole team of ‘The Girlfriend’.”
She also extended her thanks to Revanth Reddy and the Telangana government for the recognition.
“Thank you to the Telangana Government. My sincere thanks to @revanth_anumula garu, Deputy CM @Bhatti_Mallu garu, Cinematography Minister @KomatireddyKVR garu. This truly means a lot,” she added.
Produced by Vidya Koppineedi and Dheeraj Mogilineni under the banners of Geetha Arts and Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainment, the film revolves around Bhooma Devi, a postgraduate student who falls in love with her college mate Vikram, played by Dheekshith Shetty. While their relationship initially appears loving and promising, Vikram gradually begins to emotionally control and manipulate Bhooma.
Meanwhile, Dil Raju, Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, announced the award winners for 2025 during a press conference.
Actor Naga Chaitanya won the Best Actor award for his performance in Thandel, which also received the award for Best Film on National Integrity.
In addition, Anil Ravipudi’s film Sankranthiki Vasthunam won the award for Best Entertainment Film.
