Romantic Film ‘Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa’ to Re-release in Cinemas on February 13

Mumbai: Filmmaker Kuku Kohli’s 2002 romantic action thriller Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa is set to return to the big screen after 24 years, with a nationwide re-release scheduled for February 13, 2026.

True Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. will re-release the film across cinemas on February 13, bringing back the popular romantic drama for theatrical audiences more than two decades after its original release in 2002.

Calling the film a true big-screen experience, director Kuku Kohli said, “Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa was made for the big screen. The scale, the music, and the emotions were all designed to be experienced collectively in a theatre. I’m genuinely happy that a new generation will get the opportunity to discover the film the way audiences did in 2002.”

Kohli, who introduced Ajay Devgn to Bollywood with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991, added that romantic films continue to enjoy strong audience appeal. “Romantic cinema has a huge audience today, and this film will resonate with young viewers. Cinema has a long memory, and when a film connects honestly, it always finds its way back to audiences,” he said.

Starring Karan Nath and Jividha Sharma, Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa blends romance, action, and suspense. The story follows lovers Karan and Pooja, whose lives take a dramatic turn when Pooja’s plane is hijacked by terrorists. Karan risks his life to save her, only to discover that Pooja’s brother is among the hijackers.

Shailendra Mandowara of True Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. said the decision to re-release the film was deliberate. “At True Entertainment, we strongly believe that certain films belong only in theatres, and Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa is one of them. It has never been released on satellite or OTT platforms, which was a conscious choice to bring it back exclusively to cinemas for today’s audience,” he said.

He added that the positive response to the recent re-release of Tujhe Meri Kasam made reviving Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa a natural next step. “This is about celebrating cinema that audiences still want to experience on the big screen,” Mandowara said.

Kuku Kohli has also directed notable films such as Suhaag, Haqeeqat, and Zulmi. Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa will re-release in cinemas nationwide on February 13, 2026.
