Alia Bhatt Recalls Her First School Romance, Says She Started Dating in Class 6

Actress Alia Bhatt once left filmmaker and television host Karan Johar surprised with an amusing revelation about her early love life, saying that she began dating as early as Class 6.

The revelation came during her debut appearance on Karan Johar's popular celebrity chat show 'Koffee With Karan' in 2013. Alia appeared alongside her 'Student of the Year' co-stars Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, sharing several candid moments from her personal life.

During the conversation, Karan mentioned that Varun had told him Alia had quite a few boyfriends while growing up. Playfully disputing the description, Alia said she would not call it a string of relationships, but admitted to having had two serious relationships that lasted around two years each.

Surprised by the revelation, Karan pointed out that she had already experienced two serious relationships by the age of 17. When he asked whether she had started dating at 10, Alia explained that her romantic experiences had begun in Class 6.

However, she was quick to clarify that her first school romance was hardly a conventional relationship. It involved little more than exchanging smiles across the classroom, she explained with a laugh.

Varun jokingly described the innocent school romance as 'half-base', prompting Alia to clarify that her first actual boyfriend came much later, in Class 10.

Recalling that relationship, Alia described it as her first high-school love and said they were together for two years. When Karan asked whether she had ended the relationship because she wanted to pursue an acting career, the actress revealed that it was actually her boyfriend who had broken up with her.

Alia made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year' in 2012 and has since established herself as one of the leading actresses in the Hindi film industry, featuring in films such as 'Raazi', 'Gully Boy', 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' and 'Jigra'.

On the personal front, Alia married actor Ranbir Kapoor on April 14, 2022, in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family members. The couple welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor, in November 2022.
