Mithila Palkar Says She Let Her Career Evolve Naturally, Without a Fixed Plan

Mumbai - Actress and singer Mithila Palkar, known for projects such as *Little Things*, *Karwaan* and *Chopsticks*, has said that her professional journey was never guided by a rigid plan, but instead unfolded organically as she followed opportunities that came her way.

Mithila, who first gained popularity as a singer on the internet before moving into OTT platforms and later mainstream cinema, reflected on the choices she made as an artiste during her journey.

“I have always maintained that I went with the flow when it came to navigating my professional life. When the opportunity to act came my way, I grabbed it with both hands,” she told IANS. “Ten years ago, none of us knew what the internet would eventually become. It was just beginning to emerge as a legitimate entertainment medium. At that time, television, theatre, films and radio were the dominant platforms. I was experimenting and was open to anything that allowed me to be an actor and gave me creative satisfaction.”

She added that she auditioned extensively and embraced every opportunity that helped her grow as a performer. “The way life has played out for me is something I don’t think I could have planned better. I’m glad I didn’t plan it, because it gave me the freedom to truly go with the flow,” she said.

Tracing her early breakthroughs, Mithila recalled how one project naturally led to another. “FilterCopy gave me *News Darshan*, which was a new satire comedy show. After that, Dhruv and I did a couple of comedy sketches, and then *Little Things* happened, followed by *Girl in the City*. Everything flowed from the previous opportunity. If I had tried to plan it, I don’t think I could have planned it this well,” she remarked.

The actress also credited her journey to the people she met along the way. “I was fortunate to meet the right people at the right time. Some of them I may not have met again after those initial years, but they were extremely important in my journey then. I will never forget the role they played in pushing me forward,” she said.

Mithila further noted that she had mentors at different phases of her life who supported her decisions without pressure. “They would simply say, ‘If you don’t want to do it, don’t do it.’ Even if our association was limited to a single project, their guidance stayed with me. I am deeply grateful to have met people who were kind enough to lead the way,” she added.
