Jitendra Kumar Reflects on His Dual Identity as Jeetu Bhaiya and Sachiv Ji

Mumbai: In an age of content overload, where audiences often struggle to connect deeply with characters, actor Jitendra Kumar has successfully portrayed not one but two memorable roles—Sachiv Ji in Panchayat and Jeetu Bhaiya in Kota Factory.

In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Jitendra spoke about which of the two characters has made a stronger impression on viewers.

When asked, “You’ve played two roles that have deeply resonated with audiences—Sachiv Ji in Panchayat and Jeetu Bhaiya in Kota Factory. When you’re out in public, which character are you most often identified as?” Jitendra responded,
“I think Jeetu Bhaiya is slightly more popular, but people often mix up the two characters.”

He went on to explain, “For example, someone might start a conversation by calling me Jeetu Bhaiya, but then ask, ‘Will Jeetu Bhaiya be able to move on from Rinki or not?’—blending both storylines. I think viewers are still hung up on both shows, but 'Jeetu Bhaiya' comes more naturally to them than 'Sachiv Ji’.”

When asked which character he prefers, Jitendra said,
“It’s hard to choose, as both roles are quite different. But since Panchayat Season 4 just came out, it’s my current favourite.”

Set in rural India, Panchayat follows the story of Abhishek (played by Jitendra Kumar), who works as the secretary of a Gram Panchayat in the village of Phulera. Initially discontent with his village life, Abhishek begins preparing for competitive exams from inside the Panchayat office. Over time, he forms close bonds with Pradhan-Pati (played by Raghubir Yadav), the village head (Neena Gupta), Prahlad Cha (Faisal Malik), and Vikas, the office assistant (Chandan Roy).

In contrast, Jitendra portrays Jeetu Bhaiya, a dedicated and motivational NEET tutor in Kota Factory, a show centered on the lives of students preparing for entrance exams in Kota.
