New Delhi — Newly released documents linked to the US Justice Department’s investigation into financier Jeffrey Epstein contain allegations claiming that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates contracted a sexually transmitted disease and sought antibiotics for his then-wife, Melinda French Gates. Gates has strongly denied the claims.
The allegations appear in draft emails dated July 18, 2013, which Epstein is believed to have written on behalf of Gates’ longtime science adviser, Boris Nikolic. The documents form part of a massive release by the US Justice Department, comprising more than three million pages of records, 2,000 videos and around 180,000 images related to the Epstein probe.
According to the drafts, Epstein claimed involvement in activities that allegedly included helping Gates obtain medication “to deal with consequences of sex with Russian girls.” The documents further allege that Gates asked Epstein to delete related correspondence and to secretly provide antibiotics for Melinda French Gates.
In one draft email addressed to Gates, Epstein — again writing as Nikolic — accused the billionaire of attempting a “cover-up” to safeguard his public image. The draft claims Gates requested antibiotics to be given to his wife without her knowledge and urged the deletion of emails referencing the alleged STD.
The email draft states: “[You] implore me to please delete the emails regarding your STD [sic], your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda…”
A spokesperson for Bill Gates categorically rejected the allegations, describing them as “absolutely absurd and completely false.”
“The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame,” the spokesperson said.
The latest release of documents has also revealed references to several high-profile figures, including US President Donald Trump, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Britain’s former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair.
Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy US financier, died in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges involving underage girls. His death was officially ruled a suicide.
