Dhaka — The **Awami League** on Thursday called on its leaders, activists, and supporters to stay alert against what it described as “conspiracies” being orchestrated by the **Muhammad Yunus-led interim government** and its allies, in connection with the party’s ongoing **‘Dhaka Lockdown’** programme.
The programme, announced earlier by the Awami League, coincides with the upcoming **verdict of the Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal** in a case involving former Prime Minister **Sheikh Hasina**, reportedly expected on **November 17**.
In a strongly worded statement, the Awami League accused the **Yunus-led interim administration** of being an “illegal, usurping, fascist regime” that has stripped the party of its democratic rights, violated human rights, and turned the justice system into a farce by filing “false and harassing” cases against its leaders and supporters.
The party further alleged that **acts of violence and terrorism** were being carried out across the country with the **tacit support of the interim government**, citing reports from several news outlets.
> “We have repeatedly warned this illegitimate occupying force. Awami League leaders and activists know how to fight for their rights through struggle and movement. True to that tradition, the Awami League has announced a political programme to assert those rights. The people have already responded enthusiastically to the announced Dhaka Lockdown program,” the party’s statement said.
>
> “The overwhelming public response has terrified the illegal occupiers, and the scenes from Dhaka over the past two days clearly show how successful the Awami League’s program has been,” it added.
The party alleged that, in response, the interim government and its associates were **trying to sabotage the movement** by staging or supporting acts of violence and then **falsely blaming the Awami League**.
> “There is no evidence that Awami League leaders or activists were involved in any of the places where such incidents occurred. Instead, members of the police’s intelligence wing have been abducting Awami League activists from their homes, fabricating stories of sabotage, and filing false cases against them,” the statement read.
The Awami League urged its members to maintain the **peaceful nature** of their movement and to uphold the **people’s spontaneous support** for the lockdown programme.
Reaffirming its commitment to resisting the interim administration, the party vowed to **“break through all webs of conspiracy”** and ensure that what it termed the **“illegal, usurping, fascist Yunus regime”** can no longer deceive the people or suppress their democratic rights.
