New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct the NEET PG 2025 examination today (Sunday) in a single shift, marking a crucial step for thousands of aspiring doctors seeking admission to postgraduate medical courses across India.
The computer-based test will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at multiple exam centres nationwide, under strict supervision and examination protocols.
Candidates will be allowed entry to exam centres between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., after which the gates will be closed. Login access will begin at 8:45 a.m., and candidates must remain seated in their allotted exam halls throughout the duration of the test.
NEET PG serves as the national eligibility-cum-ranking examination for admissions to postgraduate medical programs, including:
Doctor of Medicine (MD)
Master of Surgery (MS)
Postgraduate Diplomas
Post-MBBS DNB
Six-year DrNB courses
NBEMS Diploma programmes
This year, over two lakh candidates are expected to appear for the highly competitive exam.
As per NBEMS instructions, candidates must carry the following:
A printed copy of the NEET PG 2025 admit card with a barcode or QR code
A photocopy of their permanent or provisional registration certificate from the Medical Council of India (MCI), State Medical Council (SMC), or National Medical Commission (NMC) — this will be collected at the centre
A valid and original photo ID — accepted IDs include PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, or Aadhaar Card with photo
Candidates carrying an e-Aadhaar must ensure it is a clear, high-quality colour printout with an easily identifiable photograph.
Those applying under the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must also carry a valid disability certificate issued by a competent authority.
Originally scheduled for June 15, 2025, the NEET PG exam was postponed by more than seven weeks after NBEMS sought additional time from the Supreme Court.
On June 3, the board formally requested a date extension due to operational challenges, including expanding test centres and implementing enhanced security measures. The Court acknowledged the concerns and approved the new exam date of August 3.
