Govt issues directions to change school timing following sever winter

Ranchi: The state government has asked all the DCs of the state to ensure that the government school timings are changed from 8
am to 10 am keeping in mind the severe winter conditions which has been aggravated due to incessant rainfall. Principal Secretary
of the School Education Department Amrendra Pratap Singh has written a letter to all the DCs stating that as per the rules of
the Jharkhand Academic Council they are authorised to take a final decision on running the schools keeping in mind the local weather
conditions.

Mr Singh has asked the DCs to ensure that all the government schools should start their classes from 1000hrs instead of
0800hrs. He has suggested that it appears that it would be better that classes from 1-5 should be either closed down or should be run from 1100hrs to 1300hrs provided the weather gets bright and clear. He has also asked the officials concerned to get in touch with the school monitoring committee.
