




Suhl (Germany): India continued its impressive run at the ISSF Junior World Championship 2026 in Suhl, Germany, collecting five more medals on the second day of competition to remain at the top of the medal standings.
The biggest highlights of the day came from Sameer and Rohit Kanyan, who captured gold medals in their respective events.
Sameer delivered a calm and confident performance to win the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior title, finishing the final with 28 hits. Rohit Kanyan also produced an outstanding display to claim gold in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior event, further boosting India's medal haul.


India's Prachi Gaikwad earned the silver medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women Junior event, registering a score of 354.7.
The Indian shooters also impressed in the team competitions. The trio of Rohit Kanyan, Vedant Nitin Waghmare, and Hithesh Srinivasan secured the bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior Team event.

Another bronze came in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Junior Team event, where Sameer, Abhinav Choudhary, and Sahil Choudhary combined to finish on the podium.
With five medals added on Saturday, India's overall tally after two days has risen to eight medals—four gold, one silver, and three bronze. The strong performances in both individual and team events have helped India maintain the top spot in the championship's medal table.
On the opening day, Sejal Kamble won gold in the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior individual event, while Himanshi claimed the bronze medal. India also struck gold in the 10m Air Pistol Women Junior Team event, with Sejal Kamble, Vanshika Choudhary, and Navya Bishnoi combining for a winning total of 1700 points.
