South Africa Women Set to Host India in Five-Match T20I Series in April

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced that the South Africa Women’s team will host reigning world champions India for a five-match T20 International series in April. The series will be played across Durban, Johannesburg, and Benoni from April 17 to 27.

The series will begin with two matches at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban on April 17 and 19. The teams will then move to the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg for the third and fourth T20Is on April 22 and 25. The fifth and final match of the series will be held at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on April 27.

This tour will mark the Proteas Women’s final official assignment ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins on June 12 in England. South Africa have been placed in Group 1 of the tournament alongside Australia, Pakistan, India, and two qualifier teams.

CSA Director of National Teams and High Performance, Enoch Nkwe, highlighted the importance of the series, stating that facing a side of India’s calibre so close to a World Cup would be vital for South Africa’s preparations. He noted that the matches would allow the team to test combinations, refine strategies, and execute plans under pressure ahead of the global event.

The upcoming series will also be the first meeting between the two teams since India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final of the ODI World Cup in November 2025. That victory saw Harmanpreet Kaur’s side claim their maiden ICC title.
