Apple Unveils AirPods Max 2 with H2 Chip and Smarter AI Features

New Delhi— Apple has introduced its latest premium over-ear headphones, the AirPods Max 2, bringing noticeable upgrades in sound quality, noise cancellation, and intelligent features.

Powered by the new H2 chip, the headphones promise improved performance along with advanced capabilities like Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Voice Isolation, and even Live Translation—features making their debut in this lineup.

One of the standout improvements is Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which Apple claims is now up to 1.5 times more effective than before. This enhancement helps block out background disturbances such as airplane engines or train noise, offering a more focused listening experience.

Audio quality has also been refined. The new high dynamic range amplifier delivers cleaner sound, stronger bass, and more natural mids and highs. When combined with Personalised Spatial Audio, users can expect a more immersive experience while listening to music, watching movies, or gaming.

For those who prioritise high-fidelity sound, the AirPods Max 2 support 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio via a USB-C connection. This makes them particularly useful for creators using tools like Logic Pro, enabling precise music creation and mixing with spatial audio and head tracking.

The H2 chip also powers smarter everyday features. Adaptive Audio automatically adjusts noise control based on surroundings, while Conversation Awareness lowers playback volume when the user starts speaking to someone nearby.

The AirPods Max 2 will be available for order starting March 25 in the United States and over 30 countries via Apple’s official website and app, with shipping expected to begin early next month. The headphones will come in midnight, starlight, orange, purple, and blue colour options.

In India, the starting price is set at Rs 67,900. Buyers may also receive a three-month free subscription to Apple Music with their purchase.
