Five rifles and 153 cartridges recovered by Palamu police

Daltonganj (RP Service): In a search operation conducted by Palamu police in Dhumkhand Pahadi located under Manatu Police Station area of five rifles and more than 150 cartridges which were kept hidden by the Maoists were recovered by the police.

Palamu SP Inderjeet Mahtha addressing a press said that in the area in which these arms have been recovered is in the bordering areas of Bihar and Chatra district.

He said that the recently arrested Maoists had informed that some arms were kept hidden in the area after which a joint team of the police and CRPF’s 134th battalion conducted search operation during which the recovery was made. He suspected that the arms may belong to the Maoist squad run by Kundan Yadav, Arvind Bhuiyaan or Sandeep Ji and said that the entire matter is being probed by the police. Those present in the press conference also included commandant of 134th battalion AP Sharma.
