Ranchi: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has written a letter to Election Commission over comments made by Union Forest and Environment Minister Prakash Javdekar over the withdrawal of the draft paper prepared by the officials of his ministry on the Indian Forest Act 1927.
Later addressing a press conference JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said few days ago the BJP talked about making amendments in this act and was challenging the existence of the tribals but as soon as the elections got nearer the party got enlightenment as the Union Minister is talking of taking the draft back despite no notification in this regard being issued and it was his mere oral statement.
He said that as the elections in the state have got nearer the party was misleading the people as they are aware that the population of tribals and moolvasis can impact the polls in the state. He said that the election commission has been asked to take action in this regard as talks of withdrawal has been done in wake of the elections which is violation of model code of conduct.
Bhattacharya said that in his rally few years ago Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that no one can take an inch land in the state but what happened in Godda was before everyone as acres of land of the people were forcibly taken away for the Adani Plant. He said that people of Jharkhand have already understood such tricks of the BJP and was waiting to teach them a lesson.
