
Ranchi: Former minister Enos Ekka who was in prison after being convicted and awarded life imprisonment in the murder case of a para teacher has been granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court.
The bench of Justice Rajesh Kumar and Justice Amitabh Gupta granted the bail to the former minister and has also directed him to submit his passport, moreover, he will be also not allowed to travel outside the state.
Ekka was the MLA from Kolibera seat of the Jharkhand assembly however after he was awarded life imprisonment in the case he lost the membership of the house.
Enos Ekka was elected from Kolibera (ST) seat of the Jharkhand assembly on three successive occasions including 2005, 2009 and 2014.
The para teacher Manoj Kumar was murdered in the month of November after which his family members had registered a named fir against Ekka.
Manoj Kumar was a para teacher in Jatatand school and was also the head of Kolibera block para teacher association.
