
Ranchi: Chief Secretary DK Tiwari said that the community Tana Bhagats were historic therefore the state government was working for their economic empowerment.
Chairing the meeting of Tana Bhagat Development Authority at project building here he said that after addressing the issues related to their land the government has almost fulfilled their requirements related to homes education health care power and water and the other remaining works would also be finished within a stipulated time frame.
He said that the government was making efforts so that the Tana Bhagats who are living in different districts of the state can be provided government assistance for which a list of their family members has also been made.
He said that if name of any family is not in the list then as per the process their name should be registered and he directed to handover the list of the leftover families to the DCs of the different districts as the government was making efforts that not a single family should be left in the list.
The chief secretary said that on the basis of the successor three day camp should be organized and land receipt should be issued to the Tana Bhagat however he said that only complaint has been received from Latehar where the committee has not received their land receipts and said that special camp should be organized so that the succession certificate can also be distributed and directed officials that on the basis of the successor the rent receipt should be provided.
In the meeting, it was informed that on the basis of the successor so far 715 families have been given the certificates.
During the meeting, the Tana Bhagat said that rent receipt on the land should be given to them on the payment of token money of Rupees 1 as they did not want the right over the land free of cost whereas an earlier on their demand only the government had made their land rent-free. On this, the chief secretary assured that he would be apprising the government regarding their demands.
In the meeting, it was informed that some of the Tana Bhagats have not been able to take advantage of the Pradhanmantri Aawas Yojana over which the Chief Secretary directed the officials to ensure that they are sanctioned homes under the scheme and if there was a delay then they should be given homes under Ambedkar Awas Yojana.
He also suggested the Tana Bhagats hat the amount which has been transferred in their accounts for building an additional room should be used to construct the house as per the design approved of Pradhanmantri for Ambedkar Awas Yojana.
The families who directed to speed up the process of purchasing for cows of their own choice as the word for construction of 346 shades for the cattle has been completed and the beneficiaries have been provided training for animal husbandry. The chief secretary said that apart from purchase of the cattle there is provision of insurance also and he directed the officials to ensure that in case of loss insurance amount is paid on time.
The chief secretary also directed to make arrangements for placement of students hailing from the community who have passed out from the Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University whereas those who have failed as per their qualification they should be provided jobs.
He directed to organize a screening for such Tana Bhagats who are less than 10th pass so that they can be linked with skill development programs and also assured that those who are interested to operate minibus in their area the government would be also helping them.
Mr Tiwari expressed his anguish over the performance of Ranchi district which had performed poorly in distributing of fertilizers and seeds to the Tana Bhagat and directed to take action on the concerned person.
Those present in the meeting also included additional Additional Chief Secretary Finance KK Khandelwal, Principal Secretary Rural Development Avinash Kumar and secretaries of various other departments.
