Gumla: Body of a middle aged woman was recovered from a local river at Bada Turiamba village under Bharno Police Station area of this district.
The deceased has been identified as Chandramani Devi (55). Police said that it was villagers who first informed about the body in the pond after which a police team was sent to the spot.
Police said that the woman has been attacked on the head with a sharp edged weapon while her hands and legs were also tied up. Police later sent the body for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital. Further probe was on.
