Police on alert mode over last Somvaari and Bakri Eid

Ranchi: In wake of the twin festivals of last Somvari of the auspicious month of Shravan and Bakri Eid falling on Monday the Ranchi police is on an alert mode.

SSP Anish Gupta held a meeting with City SP, Rural SP, DSPs and other police officers over the festival over which he said that the entire district has been put up on alert mode. For the last Somvari and Bakri Eid elaborate security arrangements have been made and police will keep an eye on trouble mongers. Mr Gupta said that strict action will be taken if any person tries to take the law in their hands.

In a joint order issued by DC Rai Mahimpat Rey and SSP Anish Gupta 121 magistrates and 101 police officers and more than 2000 jawans have been posted at various spots.

The office incharge of concerned police stations have been asked to keep an eye on activities of suspicious elements and to keep an eye on the law and order situation since 6 am on Monday morning a control room will be functioning.

The City and Rural SP along with Sadar and Bundu SDOs have been given the responsibility to look into the arrangements. 12 patrolling parties have been formed for the day in which a magistrate and a police officer along with jawans will be present and they would be moving in the areas which has been allotted to them. Special vigil will be maintained around Daily Market and Hindpiri areas.

The SPs have been also directed to keep an eye on camel sacrifice and special vigil has been instructed in bordering areas and checking illegal cattle smuggling for which it has been directed to form check posts and keep an eye so that no untoward incident takes place at any religious spot for which it has been directed to erect CCTV at sensitive religious spots.
