One arrested, 10 shops sealed, 66 cattle rescued as police cracks down on prohibited meat trade in Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh: In a crackdown against selling and buying of prohibited meat the district administration today conducted a raid at a couple of locations in the city and arrested a person involved in this illegal trade and also registered FIR against 13 others.

Police said that following the directions of Hazaribagh SP a team of the district administration led by Sadar SDO Megha Bhardwaj and SDPO conducted raids in Qureshi Mohallah and Chistiya Mohallah during which prohibited meat was recovered from three spots. 

During the raid, a total of 66 animals were also rescued which were later sent to the local ‘gaushala. During the operation, a total of 10 shops were sealed while FIR against 13 others for being involved in the trade of prohibited substance has been registered. The arrested has been identified as Nihal Qureshi.
