Girl hailing from ‘Paharia’ community gang raped in Pakur

Pakur: A girl hailing from the primitive Paharia tribe was abducted and gang-raped by five youth under Amrapada Police Station area of this district. An FIR in this regard has been lodged by the victim at the police station after which she was sent for medical examination to the Sadar Hospital.

The victim in her complaint said that late Thursday night she had gone to relieve herself near a pond in her village when five youth in borne an SUV forcibly abducted her. She was later taken to a forest where she was raped by the culprits who later dropped her near her village and threatened her not to narrate the incident.

The victim, however, informed her family members and on Saturday reached the police station to register the FIR. Police said that raids were being conducted to nab the culprits.
