
Deoghar/Dumka: The rush of kanwariyas eager to offer their jala-abhishek to Baba Baidynath in Deoghar and Baba Faujdari in Basukinath Dham of Dumka continued to swell with each passing day of the month-long Shravani Mela.
A report from Deoghar said that till 5 pm 74,522 kanwariyas had paid their obeisance at Baba Baidynath out of which 3251 devotees had opted for the ‘sighradarshanam’.
It is expected that by the time the doors of the temple are closed for the night another 10,000 devotees will be offering their jala-abhishek. Meanwhile, a report from Dumka said 1.41 lakh devotees have offered Jala-abhishek at Basukinath Dham out of which 1996 devotees voted for ‘shigra-darshanam’.
During the day the temple received more than Rs 93,000 as offerings from the devotees along with 82 grams of silver. On the other hand a silver coin of one gram was sold along with 5 silver coins of 5 grams each.
