Ramgarh: The Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) has announced a one-day peaceful protest at the Jharkhand Mining Project (15 Number) in Ramgarh on November 5, 2026, demanding a resolution to 11 issues affecting landowners, displaced families, project-affected people and local residents. The party's supremo and Dumri MLA, Tiger Jairam Mahto, will participate in the demonstration.

The decision was taken at a party meeting. JLKM Central Vice-President Ravi Kumar Mahto said the party had submitted a memorandum to the project management on September 7, 2026, under letter number JLKM/10/2026, outlining 11 public grievances and demands concerning the area.

However, he alleged that even after two months, the management had neither taken any concrete steps to address the demands nor initiated positive discussions with the affected communities. This, he said, had led to widespread dissatisfaction among displaced families, project-affected residents, villagers and party workers.

In response, the party decided to launch a democratic protest to press for action on the pending demands. JLKM said the demonstration would remain peaceful and democratic.

The protest is scheduled to take place from 10 am to 4 pm on Thursday, November 5, at the Project Officer's Office premises of the Jharkhand Mining Project (15 Number) in Ramgarh.

The party has urged the project management to take the 11 demands seriously, initiate constructive dialogue at the earliest and ensure their resolution. It warned that if the demands remain unaddressed, JLKM would be compelled to intensify its agitation, taking the issue from the streets to the Assembly.

The party also said the project management would be held responsible for any untoward incident, disruption of work or law-and-order situation during the protest, alleging that the management had failed to initiate timely discussions despite receiving the memorandum.

JLKM has appealed to local residents, affected families and party workers to participate in the demonstration and raise their voices in support of the demands. The party expects thousands of displaced and affected people, villagers, office-bearers from its central, district, block and panchayat units, and supporters to attend.
