Ranchi: Rahul Gandhi's portrayal as Prime Minister in a mock Parliament has triggered a political exchange in Jharkhand, with BJP leader and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi taking a sarcastic dig at the Congress leader. Marandi remarked that Rahul Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister of the country in real life was unlikely, suggesting that his role in the mock Parliament might be an attempt to fulfil that ambition.
Speaking to reporters at his residence in Barganda, Giridih, on Tuesday, Marandi said that becoming the country's Prime Minister requires winning the trust and support of the people. Merely playing the role of Prime Minister in a mock parliamentary exercise, he added, cannot turn such an ambition into reality.
Marandi also targeted the Congress leadership, saying the party should be concerned about its leader and arrange treatment for him. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi's political activities and public statements could prove detrimental to the Congress.
The BJP leader's remarks come amid discussions surrounding Rahul Gandhi's role as Prime Minister in the mock Parliament. His comments have added a fresh dimension to the political sparring between the BJP and Congress in Jharkhand, with attention now turning to how the Congress responds to the criticism.
