During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner checked the electrical systems and the halls housing Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines and ballot units. He also reviewed compliance with the standards and security protocols prescribed by the Election Commission of India.
Bhuvania directed officials to ensure that all prescribed security and safety measures remain in place at the warehouse and that the facilities are regularly monitored.
He also inspected the seals installed at the warehouse gates, the deployment of security personnel and the CCTV surveillance system covering the premises and individual rooms. The fire-fighting equipment installed at the facility was also checked.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to conduct regular inspections and ensure timely cleaning and maintenance of fire-safety equipment so that it remains fully operational during an emergency.
The inspection was attended by representatives of recognised political parties, Deputy Election Officer Sagari Baral, police personnel and other officials concerned.
The visit was part of the routine monitoring of election-related storage facilities to ensure that electronic voting equipment and other election materials remain secure and that prescribed safeguards are consistently followed.
