Baba Baidyanath Temple Donation Boxes Yield Over ?13.56 Lakh, Foreign Currency Also Found

All 18 donation boxes installed on the premises of Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar were opened on Thursday under tight security and the supervision of the temple administration.

According to Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya, the donation boxes contained ?13,56,810 in Indian currency. Foreign currency was also found among the offerings, including Nepali currency worth 4,090, 10 Bhutanese currency units and 50 Australian dollars.

The cash and foreign currency collected from the boxes were taken to the temple administrative building for counting and verification. The entire process was conducted under the supervision of temple officials, with adequate security arrangements in place.

The offerings reflect the continued flow of devotees from different parts of India as well as neighbouring countries and abroad to the famous Baba Baidyanath Temple, one of the country's prominent pilgrimage centres.

Officials said the counting and handling of the donations were carried out as per the established administrative procedure.
