Deoghar: The district administration has stepped up preparations for security and crowd management ahead of the fourth and final Monday of Rajkiya Shravani Mela 2026. On Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya and Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar jointly briefed magistrates, officials and police personnel deployed for the mela at the B.Ed. College premises.
The Deputy Commissioner said Devghar witnesses a massive influx of devotees on Mondays. He directed all officials and security personnel to remain fully alert and perform their duties with dedication and a spirit of service. Ensuring smooth and safe jalarpan for devotees should be the administration’s top priority. He instructed officials to ensure that the queues keep moving continuously and that unnecessary gaps do not develop.
He also stressed the need for courteous behaviour with devotees and directed officials to provide them with all possible assistance and facilities. He said it was the responsibility of everyone to ensure that devotees visiting Deoghar from other states return with a positive experience of the arrangements.
Special Focus on Queue and Traffic Management
Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar directed officials to pay special attention to queue and traffic management. He said magistrates, police officers and security personnel deployed from outside have now become familiar with the mela arrangements. Therefore, there should be no negligence in crowd control, devotee safety or traffic management.

He said all police outposts and traffic outposts would be supervised by officers of DSP rank. The concerned officers will continuously monitor their respective areas and ensure immediate action to prevent any problem, so that devotees can perform jalarpan without difficulty and traffic congestion does not occur in the city.
During the briefing, Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena and Sub-Divisional Officer Ravi Kumar also apprised the officials of the preparations and precautions required for the fourth Monday. District Transport Officer, District Public Relations Officer, district-level officials, executive engineers, magistrates and police officers deployed in the mela area were also present.
