Hemant Soren remembers elder brother Durga Soren on his birth anniversary

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tribute to his late elder brother and prominent Jharkhand movement leader Durga Soren on his birth anniversary, recalling his long struggle for the state and the rights of its people.

In an emotional message shared on social media, Hemant Soren described Durga Soren not only as his elder brother but also as a guardian and guide who played an important role in his life.

The Chief Minister said Durga Soren devoted his entire life to Jharkhand, the identity of its people and their rights. He remembered his brother's commitment to the Jharkhand movement and his determination to stand up for issues concerning the state's people.

Hemant Soren said his elder brother's struggles, ideas and fighting spirit continue to inspire people even today. He added that Durga Soren's legacy would continue to guide future generations and serve as a source of inspiration in the years ahead.

Remembering him on the occasion, the Chief Minister paid his respects and concluded his message with the words: “Late Durga Soren Amar Rahein! Jai Jharkhand!”

Durga Soren, a prominent figure associated with the Jharkhand movement and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, died in 2009. His political legacy continues to hold significance within the party and among supporters of the statehood movement.
