Deoghar Introduces Virtual Reality Camps for Pilgrims During Shravani Mela 2026


Deoghar: In a unique initiative to enhance the experience of pilgrims during Shravani Mela 2026, the Deoghar district administration on Tuesday launched Virtual Reality (VR) camps at the mela premises. Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya and Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar jointly inaugurated the first VR camp at Shivalok.The Deputy Commissioner said the district administration is making every effort to provide better facilities, safety and a memorable experience to devotees visiting Baba Baidyanath Dham. As part of this initiative, 10 VR camps have been established at key locations across the mela area.Through VR technology, pilgrims will be able to virtually explore the history of Baba Baidyanath Temple, the legend behind the installation of the Shivling, Deoghar's rich cultural and religious heritage, and various public welfare schemes being implemented by the state government. The initiative aims to connect devotees with the spiritual and historical significance of Deoghar in an engaging and immersive manner.The Deputy Commissioner said Shravani Mela 2026 has incorporated several modern technologies to improve pilgrim services, and the VR camps are another step towards making the mela more informative and visitor-friendly.The 10 VR camps have been set up at the following locations: two at Shivalok, two at Shivganga, one each at Jalsar, Khijuria, Deoghar Railway Station, Jasidih Railway Station, Baghmara Bus Stand and Kothiya Bus Stand.Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Municipal Commissioner Sulochana Meena, District Public Relations Officer Rahul Kumar Bharti, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi and other officials were present during the inauguration.
