Special Helicopter Service Launched Between Deoghar and Basukinath During Shravani Mela


Deoghar: To enhance the convenience of pilgrims during the State Shravani Mela-2026, a special helicopter service between Deoghar and Basukinath was launched on Tuesday. The service will enable devotees to enjoy a quick aerial view of Baba Baidyanath Dham, Basukinath and Trikut Hill, offering them a safe, convenient and memorable travel experience.Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvaniya said the service has been introduced with the support of the Cabinet Secretariat and Vigilance Department (Civil Aviation), Government of Jharkhand. It is being operated by the Jharkhand Flying Institute. The fares have been kept affordable so that a larger number of devotees can avail themselves of the facility.He said the helicopter service will be especially beneficial for elderly pilgrims, persons with disabilities and devotees travelling from distant places, allowing them to visit Baba Baidyanath Dham, Basukinath and Trikut Hill in a short time. The district administration has directed officials to ensure strict adherence to all safety standards for heliport operations and passenger security.The fare for the 7 to 10-minute aerial tour of Deoghar is ?2,850 per person. The Basukinath aerial tour of the same duration is also priced at ?2,850 per person. A 10 to 15-minute aerial tour of Trikut Hill from Deoghar will cost ?3,750 per person. In addition, a one-way helicopter service from Deoghar to Basukinath has been introduced at a fare of ?4,500 per person for the 15-minute journey.Pilgrims can book tickets at the booking counter set up at Hathgarh Ground.
